Information About Appointments

Prior to your initial/ subsequent appointment

We will email you a confirmation and details relating to your appointment. In addition, you will be sent some forms to complete prior to your appointment. It is not essential for you to complete these forms before your appointment however it will save time and allow our physiotherapists to better prepare for your appointment.

On the day of your appointment

Please take note of any specific instructions which were sent to you. For example, you may need to consume sufficient amounts of fluid prior to attending your appointment, so that specific tests can be carried out effectively.
During your initial consultation, you can expect that we will:

  • Understand the primary reason for your consultation, determine your expectations and what you would like to get out of the consultation;
  • Take a thorough history of your symptoms, previous or future surgical procedures, medical history, lifestyle factors and any previous or concurrent treatments for your presenting condition;
  • Conduct all appropriate tests to determine the cause of your symptoms. This may include assessing the function of your pelvic floor muscles by using real time ultrasound.
  • Discuss the findings of the tests and clearly explain to you the cause of your symptoms.
  • Present a clear personalised treatment plan based on our findings and commence working on this immediately get you back on track.
